My Soul, bless the Lord, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. My soul, bless the Lord and do not forget all His benefits. He forgives all my iniquities; He heals all my diseases. He redeems my life from the Pit; He crowns me with faithful love and compassion. He satisfies me with good things; my youth is renewed like the eagle. The Lord executes acts of righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. [Psalm 103:1-6]
Your word says: Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord—the people He has chosen to be His own possession! [Psalm 33:12] I am blessed to live in a nation that was founded on the principles of God. I know that right now my nation has turned its eyes away from You and is not listening to Your voice or following Your wisdom. I know that justice no longer attempts to be prevalent in our society to prevent those from being oppressed. Yet, we are still free to worship You. We are still free to meet and unite in prayer. We are still blessed because of the faithfulness of those who came before us. We were never a perfect nation and we have not always done what is right. I ask for forgiveness for my country and for how we have sinned. But I also give You praise and glory for how You have blessed us in the past and still blessing those of us who have remained within Your light and salvation. The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy. Our Father, which are in heaven, You are worthy of our praise. Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord from the heavens, Praise in the heights! Praise Him all His Angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Let them praise the name of the Lord. For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. Amen! [Psalms 145:13; Psalms 145:18; Psalm 147:11; Psalms 148:1&2; Psalms 148:13]
