Asking the Holy Spirit to Help Me Today

Heavenly Father in the morning, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation. [Psalms 5:3] I praise You for all You have done and will do in the future. I praise You for creation itself and for the trust You put in man even after we have failed You for generation upon generation. Help me take command of my morning and shake the evil from it.

Holy Spirit help me to be open to change that is needed for me to grow and to live. Help me to create new habits and to try new ideas to stay fresh in my life. Help me to stand upon what is tried and true but to be willing to try change for things that have not worked, have caused pain and strife, or to improve the lives around me. Let me constantly renew my mind but also find knowledge as valuable as Solomon did. Let me learn to find joy and to use it to be my strength like Nehemiah. Give me the courage to face the challenges of the day like You did Joshua and David. Help me to live in, with and,, lean upon the power of the Holy Spirit like the disciples, Paul, and the first churches talked about in Acts. Help me to stand and learn to have a strong faith like Caleb and to believe as Elijah and Elisha so that I can witness the wonders and miracles You provide.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings. Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties, and see if there is any wicked way in me. And lead me in the way everlasting. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit in me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted to You. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. In Jesus’ name, amen. [1Chronicles 4:9&10; Psalms 17:6-8, Psalm 139:23&24; Psalms 51:10-15]
