Heavenly Father I praise You for the Bible and how it gives us a beginning to understanding faith, salvation, and wisdom. I also know that we build off this foundation with the leading of Your Holy Spirit and with each trial and testimony we endure, face, or walk through. I praise You so that wisdom is not stagnate or just rules in a book but is a living, growing piece of knowledge that builds within each of us and as we share it grows within our community. Help me to take command of my day and to shake the evil out of it.
Your word says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. We are to study to show ourselves approved by God, by being a workman who needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. So, as I understand that I am raised with Christ, I will learn to desire those things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God.” [Proverbs 1:7; 2 Timothy 2:15; Colossians 3:1; all MEV] As I grow in wisdom and in knowing Your Spirit I will continue to dig deeper into Your word, have faith in learning wisdom from Your Holy Spirit, and to change my focus to desiring and looking for the things that are above with Christ in His throne room. My faith will have to grow with what I can’t see and with what I can see. As I see God move, see His creation, and learn His principles, I will also have to trust in Your Spirit to prompt me toward good decision-making as I walk forward in life where I will face adversity, sin, darkness, and my human weaknesses. I will need to set goals inspired by You to achieve and to believe they can happen only because You lead me that way. You created me, You specifically designed me and gave me talents, ministry, and gifts. I need to allow Your Spirit to guide me as I hone all of that so that I can fulfill Your will hourly, daily, weekly, yearly, and throughout the rest of my life. I know I am not perfect but I can strive towards that, knowing that You are perfect. I know I do not always see what is above me, but You are above me, and through Your Spirit, I have access to Your throne room. I know that my faith must grow, but only by recognizing in humility that I can’t do this without You will I gain the ability to trust so I can grow in faith. I am not Caleb, Joseph, Peter, Paul, or many others, I am Glenn, and I have my purpose to fulfill so that I can stand before You someday, kneel, and give a full account of my life to You after the point of salvation and how I used what You gave me to improve, grow and increase. I pray daily as I offer up my life as a living sacrifice and try to join with the Holy Spirit in renewing my mind that I will not only know, understand, and discern Your will but I will live it as fully as I can. Help me Lord Jesus to be the son You desire. In all ways, I will acknowledge who You are, who You are to me, and all that You have done for me and in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
