O Lord, You are my shepherd, I lack nothing. You help me to lie down in green pastures, You lead me beside quiet waters, You refresh my soul daily. You guide me along the right path in life. Even though I walk through the darkest of valleys, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff bring comfort to me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psa 23)
Heavenly Father I thank you for what Paul wrote the Corinthians (2 Cor. 6:16) and said, “What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” I praise You for allow me and all the brothers and sisters who follow Christ to be living temples so that Your Spirit dwells with each of us daily. Help us to honor this temple by keeping it clean and always inviting to Your presence. Help us to use this as a way to understand how to ward of temptation and to realize that we are no longer ours but Yours. Help us to daily offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to You as our true worship each day. Help us to be so focused on Your Spirit that we do not conform ourselves to this world but are transformed in our minds to be holy. Help us to know, test and understand Your will for us today so that we can walk with the fellowship of the Holy Spirit as we go through our day. (Romans 12:1&2)
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. For we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, ….Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
