Being a Watchman on The Wall

Part 1

Oh, how I love Your instructions! I think about them all day long, I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to Your word. I haven’t turned away from Your regulations, for You have taught me well. How sweet Your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey. Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. [Psalm 119:97, 101-104, NLT]

Holy Spirit Isaiah said, “I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.” I know that I do not live in Jerusalem but help me to be a Watchman on the Spiritual Walls of my home. Help me to pray for my town and my family. Help me to daily pray for all who dwell there. Help me to pray for their salvation, to see the enemy before he attacks, pray and give warnings, and to claim Your promises over my town and my home. Help me to be aware of what You inspired Ezekiel to write: "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore, I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their heads,” says the Lord God. But the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand. [Isaiah 62:6&7; Ezekiel 22:30&31; Ezekiel 33:6] I take my place in prayer to stand in the gap for my family and my town. I will pray, and warn anyone when I see danger whether physical or spiritual. I will not relent on this until it is my time to go to my eternal home. Help me to be vigilant, discerning, seeing, and ready.

And this is my prayer: that my love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen, Amen! Philippians 1:9-11
