Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the lord is majestic. [Psalm 29:1-4]
You, Lord, are my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? You are the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? [Psalm 27:1&2] I listen daily for Your voice and I have to learn to patiently wait for the wisdom that will help me make the right choices in my life. I know, that within myself I want to be like the world and rush into what I think is right, Holy Spirit help me to not do this anymore. Help me to seek, wait and then apply what You speak into my life.
Holy Spirit help me to not let this world create bitterness, pride, or hate in my life. Help me to quit seeing people as obstacles, opponents, or enemies and start seeing them as Your creation. That You dearly love and that I may be the only representative of Your love they may ever see. Their salvation may be dependent upon my being the sacrificial example You use. I know You do not need me, but I definitely need You to live. I am Your creation so I do not have Your thoughts, but I seek to learn them, so I can draw closer to You.
Help me to seek You in the morning, during the day, and at night. Consume my time, my thoughts, and my emotions. Fill me with Your wisdom, understanding, and discernment so that I may walk through life fulfilling what You created me to be.
Let my life, my actions, and my desires not be mere words on a page or words I say but be truly the relationship that I have with You. I desire to be completely sold out to You so that I am not giving into the flesh, into my pride, or into my desires. This war within is greater than any war placed upon me. Let me wear my armor and busy myself with doing my part for Your kingdom so that I do not get distracted, side tract, or lead down the wrong path for me. Let all that I say, all that I do, all that I think on, all that I listen to be for Your glory. Amen.
