Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor. (Psa. 112:1-9) Help us, Father, to become this example and this people.
Heavenly Father bind depression, discouragement, anxiety, fear and unfocused thoughts from me today. Loose onto me joy, love, contentment, wisdom, courage and discernment as I take on this new day. Teach me to learn Your wisdom and to forgive as You have forgiven me. Lead me in how to serve You today so that I can be a vine that bears good fruit for the growth of Your kingdom. Help me to love with Your love, see with Your eyes and to act promptly to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit I pray today that You would help each person who prays with me to learn to be a living sacrifice and to know their bodies are living temples for You to reside in. Help them to be sensitive to Your promptings and to be unashamed to be witness to Your love. Help us to start to demonstrate love, wisdom and discernment as we go to work, and as we interact with people in our communities, our coworkers and with other brother and sisters in Christ. Teach us to bridle our tongue and to demonstrate Your presence in our lives so that we can one day here My good and faithful servant come in. Help us to be kingdom builders here on earth by our prayers, our actions and by our words. Teach us to love, forgive and lead as You have done in our lives. Help us to see no one, especially ourselves, as better than anyone else, for we all are made in Your image and we all have sinned. Help us to live a life that demonstrates Your forgiveness within us and help us to offer hope to the world.
I constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. I pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thessalonians 1:11&12) In Jesus’ name, Amen.
