Being Wise with How I Vote

Heavenly Father I praise You today for supplying our needs not always our wants. I praise You for the times You have told me or not yet because I have seen how that has saved me much pain and heartache farther down the road. I praise You for being an omnipotent God so that I can feel You here while You also rule in heaven. Help me today to take command of my morning shake all evil out of it and expose it in Your holy light.

Holy Spirit I ask for wisdom today to figure out how to fulfill my responsibilities to the community where I live. I am faced with having to vote for people who have no faith in, know all of them to be liars, prideful, and ideologically far from center people. I cannot put faith in the political parties because both have lost sight of actually caring about the people of this country. Help me to be wise enough to vote so that Your will is done despite whoever is chosen to lead. I know that in Your word Daniel, Joseph, Esther, Mordecai, Nehemiah, Elijah, Elisha, and the disciples and the first church all had to serve under different tyrants, evil and pagan leaders. Their lives were always in danger to the whim of these leaders. Yet You prevailed and Your kingdom has prevailed. Help me to keep this in mind as I decide what to do. Help me to gain wisdom and understanding from Your Holy Spirit and shut out all the voices of men when I cast my vote.

Now I urge you, brethren, to note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with you. Amen. (Romans 16:17-20)
