Heavenly Father I praise You for allowing me to live long enough to witness how You are the God of all generations. I praise You for passing blessings down through generations to those who have faithfully served You. Help me today to take command of my morning and shake all evil from it.
Holy Spirit I give all praise for yesterday when my son Joseph was able to preach again. I praise You for honoring the heritage of my grandfather. I praise You for the life of my grandfather. He was the eldest of six to a father who drank and was a gifted card dealer until he lost his hand and part of his forearm in a corn picker. He and my grandmother were saved at one of the revivals that Billy Sunday spoke at who was a pro baseball player turned evangelist who helped bring prohibition to the US Constitution. My Grandfather would preach for years at the Free Methodist Church in Howard City before being asked to start an independent church in an old schoolhouse.
After my grandfather passed from a heart attack my Father would then minister in that same church for 33 years or more. I was lucky enough to preach for 3 years as a backup for him and fill in for various pastors all over the state even getting to preach once in my grandmother’s church from my mom’s side of the family. And now because You have been faithful to my grandfather Walter George Bongard, you have blessed our family for four generations to step up, preach Your word, and allow Your Holy Spirit to speak through us. I can not begin to tell You how much we are blessed that You would honor my grandfather for his faithfulness.
Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever, Amen. (Romans16:25-27)
