By His Wounds I am Healed

1 Peter 2:12

Heavenly Father, I praise You for today and for the mercy You have bestowed upon us. I know we live in a time as morally deprived as the days of Lot, when he lived in Sodom and Gomorrah. The world has become increasingly blatant in its celebration of sin and chaos, and our moral compass has been pushed to the limit. Yet, You love us and continually seek a relationship with us. My brothers and sisters in Christ pray daily for the salvation of others and for Christ’s return. You walk with us daily and teach us love, grace, and mercy so we may live these principles in a world saturated with hate and rebellion.

Holy Spirit, help me to remember that by the wounds of Christ, I was healed. If not for Christ dying on the cross and rising again, I would not have the gift of salvation or the privilege to serve, worship, and fellowship with You, the Holy Spirit, who dwells within me and walks with me each day. From You, I gain wisdom, discernment, and direction to live righteously and honorably before God. Never let me become hardened or forgetful of the price that was paid for me to live a life with purpose, meaning, and guided by Your encouragement.

Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, O God, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me not to forget to do good and to share, for such sacrifices are pleasing to You. I will do my best to obey those who lead me and be submissive, for they watch over my soul and will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. I am confident that I have a good conscience, desiring in all things to live honorably.

Now may the God of peace, who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead—that great Shepherd of the sheep—through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:14-21)
