Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. (Matthew 6:9-13)
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your loving kindness; according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned and done this evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak, and You are blameless when You judge. I was brought forth in my iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part, You make me know wisdom. Purify me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones that You have broken may rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me with Your willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You. Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, God of my salvation, and my tongue will sing aloud of Your righteousness. O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. [Psalm 51:1-17]
Holy Spirit help me to humble myself and understand that only through Your forgiveness and salvation do I have the right to enter Your throne room and petition You for needs of others and myself. Help me to daily renew my mind so that I stay focused on You through out my day. Help me to wear my helmet of Salvation so that I can protect my thoughts and desires so that I can be focused on life before me without being distracted by sin. I realize that I will be tempted and face times of trouble, this is not sin, what I do next decides my righteousness before You. Help me to have a heart like Caleb with the steadfastness that You are my provider, my leader, my confidence and my defender. Help me to have a mindset like Daniel that will know that I am nothing without You and that I must keep my mind on You all day long by setting up practices like focused prayer three times a day. If I make habits that cause me to pause and remember You are walking with me, I am less likely to sin. Finally, help to have a heart like Paul and Peter to be fully sold out to serving You no matter the cost to my person or reputation.
But you, man [or woman] of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 1Timothy 6:11-16
