new heart
Psalms 40:1-11—I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require. Then I said, “Here I am, I have come—it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart.” I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O Lord. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly. Do not withhold your mercy from me, O Lord; may your love and your truth always protect me.
Holy Spirit create within me a clean and useful heart. Help me to be a temple worthy of Your presence within. Search me and know me and remove any sin or wickedness that is in me. Help me to be fully open, broken and ready to serve You no matter what. Teach me to be strong in You while I am weak on my own. Help me to trust with all that is within me. Help me to listen fully to Your words and the prompting of Your Spirit. Let me become useful to You wherever you send me or whatever situation You place me in. Help me to demonstrate Your love for mine is tainted with selfishness. Let me speak Your words for my are foolish. Lead me to walk where I need to go for I chase after foolish things. Let me dream dreams so big that only through You can they be accomplished. Humble me to the point I have no one to rely on but You. Teach me to demonstrate grace, wisdom and truth in all that I endeavor to do in life.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. (2Corinthians 1:3-7) Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Galatians 1:3-5)
