Death no Longer will Scare Me

Heavenly Father, I praise You for life. I praise You for not being done with me yet. I have faced death, and because of Your will, I still live. I know that life here is just a vapor, and then we are carried into eternity. I will take command of my morning today because You have given me this task to shake evil out of my day.

Holy Spirit, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear evil, because You are with me and have assured me that nothing will come between us as long as I keep my hope and focus on You. I will be like Peter when he stepped out of the boat and stood on the water. I will be like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego when they would not bow and were tossed into the fire; like Daniel thrown to the lions; like Joseph sold into slavery; like David when he faced the trained warrior and giant Goliath; like Esther when she stood before the king uninvited; like the woman who touched Jesus’s garment in the crowd; like Stephen before he was stoned. I will stand with eternity in my heart and the hope of salvation as my footing. You will go with me, not for me but with me. That is all I could ever ask for.

The end of all things is near. Therefore, be clear-minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:7-11)
