Doing Good

Heavenly Father I praise You today for my church which tries to do good in our community on many fronts and that I am allowed to be a part of it. I praise You for designing all of us differently so that as a unified body we can accomplish many great things with all the talents, abilities, and ministries You have provided in each of us. I praise You for fearfully and wonderfully making me, giving me purpose and direction. Help me today to take command of my morning and shake evil from it.  

Holy Spirit Your word tells us: Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who are of the household of faith. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, it is a sin. “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, since you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” [Galatians 6:10, MEV; James 4:17; Matthew 25:37-40] Holy Spirit help me to do good, allows me to open my eyes and see the need around me, and responds. Help me use the resources, abilities, and knowledge I have to do what I can to do good, honor You in how I live, respond to others, and pray for people with a sincere heart.  

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
