Doing the Truth

Heavenly Father I praise You for today and how You have helped me this year. I praise You for the family You have allowed me to be a part of. I praise You for my wife, daughter, son, grandchildren, and son-in-law. I praise You for the job You have allowed me to work for the past 22 years and to move up to the position of Principal. I praise You for the two staff that I have working under me. Help me take command of my morning today and shake all evil out of it.

Holy Spirit John wrote: But he who does the truth comes to the light, that it may be revealed that his deeds have been done in God. [John 3:21, MEV] Help me to do truth at all times and to hold my integrity high so that all who know me will know ultimately I serve You. No matter the job, activity, or just ordinary days, I desire people to know who’s child I am. Help me always testify to what You have done for me and the hope that lives within me. Help me to live daily as a living sacrifice and to be Your walking temple that is housing Your Holy Spirit to share and breathe onto others. Help me to daily renew my mind with devotions, music, praise, prayer, and good books to increase my wisdom and knowledge on how to better serve You. Holy Spirit help me to continue to pray for the healing of people like Kayla, to pray for those who keep me accountable and for those who need intercession or support in their lives.

Holy Spirit You inspired Paul to write: Since I am raised with Christ I will learn to desire those things that are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God. Help me to set my affection on things above, not be consumed or love things on the earth. For I am dead, and my life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is my life shall appear, then I also shall appear with Him in glory. Teach me to put to death the parts of my earthly nature: sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because I am learning that these things, the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience. I used to live that life with them. I must now put away all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, and filthy language out of my mouth. I no longer can lie to others for that was part of my old nature or way, because I am embracing the new nature to emulate Christ, who has and is becoming my all in all. [Colossians 3:1-11, MEV and paraphrased by me] Thank You for being my guide and prompter as I grow in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
