Heavenly Father I praise You as I learn the many names attributed to You. I praise You that You are such a big God that we can not even come close to putting who You are into a nice little theological box. I praise You for Your desire to have a relationship with the human race. I praise You for the mercy, grace, and gift of salvation. Help me today to take command of my day and to pray the evil out of it.
Holy Spirit You inspired the Psalmist to write Trust in God at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God [Elohim] is our refuge [Machase Lanu]. But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread Your protection over them that those who love Your name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield. The Lord is my rock, fortress, and deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. [Psalm 62:8; Psalms 5:11&12; Psalms 18:2]
Therefore, humble yourselves under God’s mighty hand so that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.
