Equipped to Face the Day

Heavenly Father I come to Your throne room and give You praise, glory, and honor. I am humbled before You, the Creator of all that we know to exist. I am Your creation, made with intention, love, and a purpose. Allow me to take command of my morning through Your strength. Help me to be faithful to live, act, and speak Your will and testify of Your mercy and grace all day long.

Holy Spirit as I start my day, I know through Your word that I will have all I need to get through this day. “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” [2 Corinthians 9:6-9]

I know that I have spiritual armor to wear and I must live so that I bear fruit, especially demonstrating and growing the fruits of the Spirit inside of my body a living temple of God, I also, know that I must eat at the table of wisdom from Your word, and drink deeply of Your Spirit so that from my heart will spring forward the water that will sustain any soul who is thirsty to know You. As Nehemiah taught, the joy and hope You place in my heart gives me the strength to be a harvester for You. Finally, James tells me that all I need to do is ask and Your Spirit will give me the wisdom to do what is right and to live righteously.

So then, just as I have received Christ Jesus as Lord, I will continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as I was taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Since, then, I have been raised with Christ, I will set my heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Setting my mind on things above, not on earthly things. For I died, and my life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is my life, appears, then I also will appear with him in glory. Help me to put to death, whatever belongs to my earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. I used to walk in these ways, in the life I once lived. But now I must rid myself of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from my lips. I can no longer lie as Satan taught me to do in sin since I have taken off my old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of my Creator. I will let the peace of Christ rule in my heart, since as a member of the body we are called to peace, and to be thankful. The Lord is faithful, He will establish me and guard me from the evil one. And I have confidence in the Lord, that I do and will do the things He requests of me. Now may the Lord direct our hearts into the love of God and the patience of Christ. May the Lord of peace himself give us peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with us. Amen. [Colossians 2:6&7; Colossians 3:1-10; Colossians 3:15; 2 Thess. 3:3-5, & 16]
