Faith Built on the Cornerstone

Heavenly Father I praise You for the salvation of Jesus, the creation and purpose of You, and the truth, wisdom, and comfort of the Holy Spirit. I praise You for though these facets are separated from us You are one and You are the same to us. I praise You for the hope that resides in me that gets me through the day and pushes me past the dark, lonely valleys I have to travel through.

Holy Spirit I accept what Peter told the Sanhedrin after the man was healed: Rulers of the people and elders of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands before you whole. He is “the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.” There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” [Acts 4:8-12] My salvation rests upon Christ who paid for it in full with His blood upon the cross and my hope rests in the fact that the tomb is empty because Christ has risen.

Holy Spirit in my life I have witnessed much evil and much good. I know that through the Holy Spirit, I have seen miracles, healings, wonders, and signs. I also know that as Isaiah said: “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do. Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are far from righteousness. I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away, and my salvation will not be delayed.” “See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before me.” “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” [Isaiah 46:10-13, Isaiah 49:16; Isaiah 55:8&9]

I will never fully comprehend the thoughts, ways, or decisions of the Lord, but what I do know is that I am in the center Your will, as long as I trust, believe, and act upon the principles You have laid out before me. I am not perfect, but I will strive for Your perfection. I am not righteous but because You live within me I am righteous. I am very weak, but I am strong in Christ with the Holy Spirit inside me. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength, power, and most of all love.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. In Jesus’ powerful and precious name, Amen. [Philippians 1:9-11]
