Focus Your Prayer through His Word

Heavenly Father I praise You for the ability to spend time with You daily through Prayer. This seems to be the most logic-defying practice and discipline I have that the world can not nor will it ever understand. I praise You that I am learning daily and seeking to learn to talk to You, that I might come close to Enoch's closeness with You.

Holy Spirit Your word says, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.” Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Take heed, watch, and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life. Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are, for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, “Yet I will gather to him others besides those who are gathered to him.” Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 10:19-25—Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. 1 Timothy 2:8—I want men everywhere to lift holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing. We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire”. We need to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other so that we may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.

But, beloved, remember the words that were previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their ungodly desires.” These are the men who cause divisions, sensual, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God while you are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, which leads to eternal life. Some have compassion, using discernment. Others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with rejoicing, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
