Blessed be God, my mountain, who trains me to fight fair and well. He’s the bedrock on which I stand, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight, the high crag where I run for dear life, while he lays my enemies low. I wonder why you care God—why do you bother with us at all? All we are is a puff of air; we’re like shadows in a campfire. [Psalm 144:1-4]
Holy Spirit according to Your inspired word, I am to command and teach. I am not to let anyone despise me because of my age, but I am to be an example to all believers in what I say and do. I am to conduct myself in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. I am to pay attention to what I read, how I exhort others, and how I handle doctrine. I am never to neglect the gift that has been placed within me, especially when others have invested, prayed, and mentored me as elders of the body of Christ. I am supposed to meditate on all these things and give myself completely to serving Christ with all this in my heart and mind. By continuing in this process and focusing on life I will eventually see Christ and will be rewarded for dying to sin. [paraphrased from 1 Timothy 4:11-16]
Holy Spirit lead me and help me to control what I say in front of people and how I say it. Help me to listen way more than I talk and most of all help me to live the way You intended for me to live. If joy is my strength then help me to learn and cherish the joy, hope, and grace You have bestowed upon my life.
But you, man [or woman] of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. 1Timothy 6:11-16
