Getting Back Up When I am Knocked Down

Heavenly Father thank You for being our salvation and for being our creator.  I give You praise morning, noon and night for saving me from my sins and giving me a new life.  I praise You for loving me when I feel unworthy of anyone’s love.  I praise You for supplying good food and time with family this past weekend.  I praise You for a wife and son and daughter who know how to cook and prepare meals that are beyond the normal.  For their willingness to try new foods while preparing traditional foods also.  I praise You for time with the grandchildren and my son and my daughter as well as with my wife.

Holy Spirit I have been justified by faith, I have peace with God through Jesus Christ, through whom I also have access by faith into this grace in which I stand, and so I rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but I also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patience, patience produces character, and character produces hope.  Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God is shed in my heart through the Holy Spirit who speaks constantly to my heart and mind. [Romans 5:1-5] Holy Spirit help me to continue to hold to this truth especially when I am knocked down by adversity.  Help me to not lose sight of Christ in my times of suffering for He suffered and died for my sins.  I have lost much in the past year and have faced great adversity even now, but my hope rests with Christ and with the Holy Spirit who fills me up with confidence to continue to walk forward.

Holy Spirit help me to claim this truth: I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities  nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. [Romans 8:38&39]  Help me to write this on my heart and make it a permanent thought in my brain so that I can stand on this promise when life gets real hard. I give all glory and honor to Jesus Christ my savior and redeemer.  To Him be the glory forever and forever, Amen.
