Our Father, which are in heaven, You are worthy of my praise. I will Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord from the heavens; Praise in the heights! Praise Him all His Angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Let me praise the name of the Lord. For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. [Psalms 148:1&2,13]
Holy Spirit today I was reminded of the historical account of Ezekiel when he stood and prophesied as he was instructed by You in the valley of dry bones that is recorded in his book in chapter 37. You breathe life into what no one would ever consider possible and make it live, be vibrant, and move forward as an indomitable force that has to be recognized. I seek for You to breathe into me today, help me to take command of my morning, and be fervent in prayer so that my prayer is a prevailing prayer that causes change. Change seen in me, change in those around me, and change in my community. Help me to pray as James tells us to pray. Let me pray with the commitment that saw the church pray for Peter out of jail, a prayer that chose the ones who would serve the church so that the disciples could do their duties to the people. Let me be a watchman who stands guard, looks for danger, but most of all prays and prays blessings over my family, my church, my community, and my co-workers.
As one of God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, help me to clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Holy Spirit help me and my brothers and sisters to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach me to forgive as the Lord forgave me. Over these virtues help me to put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in my heart, since as a member of the body I am called to peace. Let me be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in me richly as I teach and admonish others with all wisdom, and as I sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in my heart to God. And whatever I do, whether in word or deed, help me to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
