God is in Control

Heavenly Father I praise You for being a God who is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psa. 34:18)  I praise You for being a God who walks with us through valleys as well as on top of mountains.  I praise You for the hope You have instilled in our heart that helps us survive the evil and brokenness of our world.  I praise You for being in control even when we do not see it.

Holy Spirit, Paul told us to pray for our leaders and those who in authority over us.  I pray today for the salvation and the moving of Your Holy Spirit on our President and the Vice President.  I pray that You would move on our senators and our governor to listen to Your wisdom and make wise decisions for all of us.  I praise You for being greater than all who over me but I also recognize that You have allowed them to be placed in this position.  I ask that You continue to move and speak with Your Holy Spirit to their hearts so that they become known to You and will do Your will instead of their political agendas.  I pray that You help our country to heal and find peace and love to overcome the hate, jealousy, and evil that is prevailing right now.  Help us to find ways to peaceful resolve the problems and injustice in our land without sacrificing order.  Help us to avoid chaos and to start a culture that puts love before anger and hatred.  Help us to stand on our principles but not force them down people’s throats.  Help us to live a life that is so focused  on You that we no longer get agitated by the politics, problems and nonsense that is going on in our nation right now.  Help us to serve and bless our neighbor and to always remember to pray for Israel.

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offences, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.  For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.  For your obedience has become known to all.  Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.  And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:17-20)
