God Loves Us

Heavenly Father I praise You today for the love You have for us. I praise You for making me with a purpose to fulfill and for having a plan for my life so that I am not just a random happening with no direction. I praise You for Your intentional love and for sending Your Son, Jesus, to demonstrate, teach, and live what love should be.

Holy Spirit Your word says: Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this way, the love of God was revealed to us, that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we must also love one another. No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and His love is perfected in us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. [1 John 4:7-12 and 4:16-18, MEV]

Holy Spirit help me to learn to love as You love, help me to seek to have a perfect love so that I can cast out fear in any situation that I face. Help me to learn to love with trust and faith so solid that I am able to stand my ground and face all adversity with a strength that will withstand any storm. Help me to love others by seeing them as Your creation and through Your eyes. Let my Spirit love with a heart that dies out to selfishness, pride, self-preservation, rebellion, bitterness, and sin. Let my love demonstrate the fruits of Your Spirit in my life.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.” [John 3:16-21] Let me not only accept the light of God but be like the stars that burn and shine with His light within me. Now may the Lord direct my heart into the love of God and the patience of Christ. Amen. [2 Thessalonians 3:5]
