God’s Calling

“Blessed are You, O Lord, the God of Israel, our Father forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head above all. Riches and honor flow from You, and You rule over all. In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to strengthen all. So now, our God, we give thanks to You, and praise Your glorious name.” [1Chronicles 29:10-13]

Holy Spirit help me to take to heart what Jude wrote in verse 3: I appeal to you to contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints. And what Peter said when filled with Your Spirit: For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God will call. [Acts 2:39] Also, help me to remember Christ’s words when he said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” [John 14:12-14]

Holy Spirit help me to fight for all of the faith I can get and help me to trust with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Teach me to pray with conviction and to pray with a heart that seeks change in this sinful, dark world. Help me to pray with power drawn from Your Spirit to fight the evil around me and to fight to protect the weak and new Christians. Let my prayers be derived from Your Spirit within me so that I pray in a way that Jesus, my advocate will respond and speak to the Father on my behalf. Let my prayers change and conform me to be as Christ like as I possibly can be. Help me to use my gifts and talents and ministry to grow, strengthen, heal, and lead the body. Help me to pray with authority, not because of who I am, but because of who You are and how You fill me with Your presence. Let my prayers be full of praise and always recognize Your sovereignty and kingship. Let my prayers be prayers that will move Your heart and seek and do Your will. Let my prayers change me and those who pray with me so that we can better serve You. Let my prayers be so that I am not afraid to bring them to Your throne with humility and honesty. Let me pray so that in some way when I reach heaven I will be able to answer the question, what have You done with my love and salvation. Let me be accountable and to pray with a mind uncluttered and always seeking time with You. Help me to abide in faith, hope, and love, especially demonstrating love, Your unconditional love.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. [Psa. 19:14] Jesus I now petition that You direct my heart into the love God and into the patience You demonstrated to us and still show each day we breathe. In Your name, amen.
