Having a Caleb Like Attitude

Heavenly Father You are worthy of all praise and honor. I will never be able to express with words the glory of who You are and what You mean to me. I come daily into Your throne room through Your Holy Spirit and first I seek as You instructed Job long ago to assist me in taking command of the morning and to shake the evil out of it. I always seek Your guidance and protection for my family so they will find, own, and believe in the salvation You have offered us. I praise You that I am even alive considering how many times I have now stared death in the eyes. I praise You that even though I do not always respond well when people attack me or my faith, You still love me and support me.

Holy Spirit I desire today to be courageous and bold in Your Spirit and to develop like Caleb a “different Spirit” that will make me stand out and be separated from the norm. Help me to boldly believe that God can help me face giants, claim my mountains, and be the spiritual warrior I was created to be. Help me to understand the true meaning of: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. I will put on the full armor of God so that I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. For my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, I will put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, stand. Standing firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around my waist, with breastplate of righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, I will take up my shield of faith, with which I can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. I will put on the helmet of salvation and buckle on the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And I will pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, I am alert and I always keep on praying for all the saints, the hurting, the sick, and those who need salvation. [Ephesians 6:10-18]

For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches, he may strengthen me with power through His Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to Him who can do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within me, to Him be glory, Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21
