Heavenly Father I praise You for giving us Your word passed down through the generations. I praise You for inspiring man to write what You wanted to be written so that the word is uncorrupted. I praise You for the teachings, the Psalms, the wisdom, and the examples and testimonies that are within the word. Most of all I thank You for Jesus the Word that became manifest on our behalf.
Your word teaches me: If I lack wisdom, I should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to me. If I call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if I look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then I will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. I need to let love and faithfulness never leave me; bind them around my neck, write them on the tablet of my heart. Then I will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. I must trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my understanding; but in all my ways acknowledging Him, and He will make my paths straight. I must avoid being wise in my own eyes; fearing the Lord and shunning evil. This will bring health to my body and nourishment to my bones. I will honor the Lord with my wealth, with the first fruits of all my earnings; then I can begin to reap the blessings from God. I shall not despise the Lord’s discipline and not resent His rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father delights in his children. [James 1:5; Proverbs 2:3-6; Proverbs 3:3-12]
Praise be to You, God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose me in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined me to be adopted as his son through Jesus, in accordance with His pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely given me in the One he loves. In Him I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. And He made known to me the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. In Him I was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, so that I, who has the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And I also was included in Christ when I heard the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, I am marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Amen. Ephesians 1:3-14
