How Big is Your God

Heavenly Father, righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. [Psalm 89:14-16]

Holy Spirit I am thankful that You are so much more than my mind can grasp and that I can rely on Your word being true. You are so big that the men You inspired to write what has become our Bible could not screw it up with their humanness. “The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, that the I as a man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. [Psalm 119:160; 2Timothy 3:16&17]

Let my faith grow out of the knowledge that You are my God, the God who made the heavens and the earth. You created me with a specific design and purpose. You loved me enough to send Jesus to become a man and die on the cross for my sin and then resurrect Him so that I have the hope and the promise of eternal life upon my acceptance of salvation. I can and do all things through You who strengthen and encourage me. My hope of eternity is the foundation of my faith and Your word is the soil upon which my faith grows.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! Holy Spirit help me fulfill what Christ said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” I seek wisdom to live out Your purpose, I desire understanding so that I can live fulfilled, I request discernment so that I can perceive Your Spirit and know what You are prompting me to do, and I try to renew my mind daily so that I can withstand any temptation or lie directed at me, I will live a life as a living sacrifice so that this body which is Your living temple can glorify You. May I do as Solomon directed each day: I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding; in all my ways I will acknowledge God, and I know that You, O Lord, will make my paths straight. Through the blood of Jesus and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit I say, Amen. [Proverbs 3:5&6]
