How Salty Are You

“Let the whole earth shout joyfully to God! Sing about the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, “How awe-inspiring are your works! Your enemies will cringe before You because of Your great strength. The whole earth will worship You and sing praise to You. They will sing praise to Your name. Come and see the wonders of God; His acts for humanity are awe-inspiring.” [Psalm 66:1-5]

Holy Spirit Your word tells us that we are the salt of the earth, but we need to keep ourselves fresh in Your Spirit or we will become worthless salt used to be walked on. We need to be a lamp in the darkness, shining the fire You have placed in us with Your Spirit. Help us to be as upright as we can, while we learn wisdom from You so that our light is high and shines out in the darkness with the farthest reach. Let us be so bright with Your Spirit that we are like a city on a hill where people can see the light from many miles away. [from Matthew 5:13-16]

Holy Spirit help me to walk so close to You that I am able to add seasoning to Your kingdom so that people come and taste and see You are good. Help me to be the ice that chills Your life-giving water so that people can come and drink deeply of Your Spirit and feel refreshed.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen! Amen! [Philippians 1:9-11
