Heavenly Father I praise You for giving me the morning to command. I praise You for allowing me to attend the men’s meeting last night and for how productive it was. I praise You for giving me some rest and for continuing to go before me.
Holy Spirit Your word says: “If any person is in Christ, they are a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.” “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even we were dead in sins, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),” “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may increase? God forbid! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” “Let us behave properly, as in the day, not in carousing and drunkenness, strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.” “Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.” [2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2:4&5, Romans 6:1&2, Romans 13:13&14, Ezekiel 11:19 & 20]
Holy Spirit because I have a new heart and I am a new creature I must learn to live this way. I need to focus on the wisdom of Your word and learn how I should be living. When I chose to accept Your gift of salvation when I was 16, I started a journey of living like You and doing what You desire of me and made me for. I have had to battle temptations all along my journey, but by seeking You, Your voice, and the wisdom You give me I no longer look to the temptation but instead to what You want me to do today with You.
I pray for you and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:9-18)
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Holy Spirit help us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. Teach us to forgive as the Lord forgave us. And these virtues help us put on love which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, since we are called to peace as members of one body. Let us be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in our hearts to God. And whatever we do, whether in word or deed, help us to do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Amen. Colossians 3:12-17
