I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Please, Lord, save me!” How kind the Lord is! How good He is! So merciful, this God of ours! The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and He saved me. [Psalm 116:1-6]
Holy Spirit I come before You knowing that I, like Isaiah, am a man of unclean lips. I know that without Your forgiveness and salvation, I would be a dead man because of my sin. All I can do is offer myself to You as a living sacrifice completely surrendering to the best of my ability my pride, my self-thought rights, and my desires and ambitions. I fight daily to renew my mind and live righteously with You as my guide. I ask forgiveness for my sins when I commit them willfully and know that only through Your love can I remain in Your will.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. I will love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with all my strength. I will take heed, watch and pray; for I do not know when the time is for Your return or my time to step into heaven. [Lamentation 3:24,26; Mark 12:30; Mark 13:33]
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good deed and word. Amen. [2Thessalonians 2:16,17]
