I Often Don't Feel Like I Belong Here

Heavenly Father I praise You for not just making me a man, made of flesh, bones, and blood, but one who has a spirit and a soul. I praise You for all the promises in Your inspired word that says that one day I will live with You and all my tears will be wiped away. I know that You pray and sing over me on many days. I also know that at times I disappoint You, yet You still love me. I praise You not only for salvation that cost You so much but for being full in the spirit while being full in the physical.

Holy Spirit, Christ said, “Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in Me. In my Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told You. I am going to prepare a place for You. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, you may be also. You know where I am going, and you know the way.” “ If you love Me, keep My commandments. I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see Him, neither does it know Him. But You know Him, for He lives with you and will be in You.” [John 14:1-4, 15-17]

Holy Spirit You inspired Paul to write to the Corinthians “do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which is God’s. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. We live by faith, not by sight. Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” [1 Corinthians 6:19&20; 2 Corinthians 4:17&18; 2 Corinthians 5:7; 2 Corinthians 7:1]

Holy Spirit help me to live my life in such a way that I will be known as Caleb was known, to be a man with a different spirit that You appreciate. Help me to live here doing what You created me here to do, and then let me also prepare my heart for the day I step into eternity that I will hear, “welcome my good and faithful servant.” Help me to seek to honor You each day and to keep working with the Holy Spirit to allow Your grace to change me so that there is no sin in my life. Help me to speak with Your words, led by Your Spirit. Help me to once in a while hear the great cloud of witnesses that are cheering me on. Help me to pray with confidence, power, and most of all with humility that Your will be done above all. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
