I Want to Do More and Be More

I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to You for help, and You healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; You spared me from going to the pit. Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people; praise His holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. I will be of good courage, because He strengthens my heart, as I have hope in the Lord. [Psalm 30:1-5; Psalm 31:7; Psalms 31:24]

Holy Spirit, Christ told us, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do you will do also; and greater works than these you will do, because I go to my Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” [John 14:12-14] John told us also, “If your heart does not condemn you, you can have confidence before God and receive from him anything you ask because you obey His commands and do what pleases Him.” [1 John 3:21-22]

I daily come before You and seek You with all that I am. I give my life each day as a living sacrifice and put all my trust in You. I have lived and will continue to live observing, following, and obeying Your principles that You have brought to my attention through scripture, leading from Your Holy Spirit, and wisdom gleaned from pastors, mentors, scholars, and testimonies of other believers. I seek to only ask for what I have come to understand falls within our relationship, and I always defer to Your will in all petitions, requests, and questions I bring into the throne room when I pray. I lean heavily upon the wisdom, knowledge, discernment, and understanding that I have learned as I grow in my faith to help me understand how to approach You, seek You, and know that I do not err in what I request.

I live my life to be the best, the fullest, and complete in my relationship with You. I put my faith, trust, and hope in You. I will always understand like Isaiah: For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. The Lord will keep me in perfect peace for my mind is steadfast, because I trust in Him. [Isaiah 55:8&9, Isaiah 26:3]

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of the You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
