Heavenly Father I praise You for being my light and bringing me out of the darkness. I praise You for patience as I learn to reflect that light and learn to apply the wisdom I learn as I journey along. I praise You for the testimonies of others because it helps me understand I am not alone in facing problems.
Holy Spirit help me to believe when Christ said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.” [John 8:12] I have witnessed the darkness of this world many times. I see what walking in darkness does. I do not want to be a person who walks in darkness, but I also realize I must confess darkness within me to Christ. I realize I must be like many of the stars and planets in the universe that reflect light that we see each night. I need to be consistent in my walk so that I can be like the stars and be used as a guide for others to travel by. I need to demonstrate that light exists at night so that darkness is defeated.
But, beloved, remember the words that were previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last days there will be scoffers who will walk after their own ungodly desires.” These are the men who cause divisions, sensual, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God while you are waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, which leads to eternal life. On some have compassion, using discernment. And others save with fear while pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with rejoicing, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 17-24 (MEV)
