Heavenly Father, when I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have established, I wonder—what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You attend to him? [Psalm 8:3-4, MEV] Help me to take command of my morning today and shake any evil from it, so that I may live as You desire of me.
Open my eyes so that I may see the world as You see it. I know: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." [Isaiah 55:8-9] I also know that I must trust You if I am to truly live as I was created to be. Lead me to walk this world with intention, guided by the promptings of Your Spirit. Grant me wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment of Your desires and of the intentions of those I encounter each day, so that I may live as Christ-like as possible. Help me to drink deeply from Your living water and breathe Your Word and Spirit in and out of my being, making me Your living temple and a vessel for salvation to be proclaimed to all who come near.
Now, may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort and strengthen me in every good thing I do and say. Amen, Amen. [2 Thessalonians 2:16-17, NLT]
