Keeping it Simple

For to You, O Lord I lift up my soul. For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. [Psalms 86:4-6; Psalm 89:14-16]

Holy Spirit my hope is in You. I can do nothing without You. I am very bad at communicating unless You speak through me. I am a person who likes the quiet and not one to seek large crowds to do things with. I love my time spent praying to You especially in the stillness of the morning and when I am out in nature camping or hunting. I enjoy the majesty of Your creation from the mountains in Colorado, Tennessee, Kentucky to the great lakes of Michigan. I enjoy the different seasons that give us the cycles of life from planting, to summer, to harvest and then winter to replenish the soil. I enjoy the various sunsets and partly cloudy days. I enjoy a nice warm sunshine and a gentle breeze. The greatness of Your creation has never ceased to amaze me.

Holy Spirit I praise You for my family, friends and co-workers. I praise You for times of celebrations and remembrances. I praise you for the birth of a child and the love of child or grandchild for their faith in me still humbles me. I praise You for all the adventures my wife and I have enjoyed and desire to see what new ones we will get to explore. I praise You for all the sports I played and the teams I was a part of. For all the classes I was able to take to expand my learning and challenge my work ethic. I praise You for the chance to coach and for being a teacher. I praise You for the time I was able to work with teens at churches and the mission trips and Big Stuff I was able to chaperone on.

Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul. I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayers. Blessed be God, who has not turned away from my prayer, nor His mercy from me! O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. [Psalms 66:16-20; Psalms 68:35] In all my ways I will acknowledge You and give You praise, honor, and glory. Amen.
