Learning to live through Christ

Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my plea! Answer me because You are faithful and righteous. Don’t put your servant on trial, for no one is innocent before you. My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forced me to live in darkness like those in the grave. I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear. I remember the days of old. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. I lift my hands to you in prayer. I thirst for as parched land thirsts for rain. Come quickly, Lord, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die. Let me hear of Your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting You. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to You. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord; I run to you to hide me. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. For the glory of Your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of Your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress. In Your unfailing love, silence all my enemies and destroy all my foes, for I am Your servant. [Psalm 143, NLT]

Holy Spirit Your word says: “Since I have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so I will walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as I have been taught, and abounding with thanksgiving. I will Beware lest anyone tries to captivate me through philosophy and vain deceit, in the tradition of men and the elementary principles of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him lives all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And I am complete in Him, who is the head of all authority and power. In Him, I am also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which also I was raised with Him through the faith of the power of God, who has raised Him from the dead. And I, being dead in my sins and the uncircumcision of my flesh, He has resurrected together with Him, having forgiven all my sins. He blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against me, and He took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed authorities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them by the cross.” [Colossians 2:6-15]

So I, being in Christ, lead by the Holy Spirit, will walk each day knowing that my sins are forgiven, I am a child of the Highest God, and that my victory is through Jesus’s death and resurrection. I will humbly but confidently live to serve Him every day I take a breath. I will do my best to listen to the Holy Spirit and walk and speak only the truth.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Amen. [Psalm 19:14]
