Learning to Live with Being Tested

Heavenly Father I praise You for Your word. I praise You for the wisdom, discernment, and direct training You give us through
the word. I praise You for writers like James who wrote: Count it all joy when
you fall into diverse temptations, knowing that the trying of your faith
develops patience. But let patience perfect its work, that you may be perfect
and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God,
who gives to all people liberally and without criticism, and it will be given
to him. But let him ask in faith, without wavering. [James 1:2-6]

Holy Spirit I know that I will be tested in life with many different
temptations. I have faced many trials in my life that have made me question who I am in You. Give me wisdom, discernment, and understanding so that I can continue to put all my trust in You. Let me learn to die out to myself, my will, my desires, my ideas that don’t align with Your will, Your desires, or Your
plans for me. Let me learn to listen, be slow to react, and live my life in a
way that always lets Your light shine through me.

Holy Spirit help me to be more focused on You and Your leading than my petty ideas
about how life should be. Teach me to trust you and to follow without hesitation. Help me to search Your word and my heart daily so that I may enter the throne room of God through prayer and lay my petitions before Jesus, my
intercessor and redeemer.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the
heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to
be adopted as his sons and daughters through Jesus, in accordance with His
pleasure and will—to the praise of His glorious grace, which he has freely
given us in the One He loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with
the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and
understanding. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in
Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their
fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head,
even Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything
in conformity with the purpose of his will, so that we, who were the
first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you
were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit
guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s
possession—to the praise of his glory. Amen.Ephesians 1:3-14
