Heavenly Father I praise You for all that Christ told us to do before leaving earth to ascend to the right hand of Your throne. We are to go into all the world and spread the good news, baptize people, teach them about Your ways and most of all make Your church a house of prayer. Christ set the example for us in how to serve, but to always pray. I praise You that not only can You hear our words but our thoughts and know our heart and intention. I praise You for the gift of salvation and the fact that opens the door for us to walk and talk with You daily.
Holy Spirit help me to breath in today Your word and let the wisdom strengthen me so that I can fulfill my opportunity to build God’s kingdom while I am here on the earth. Help me to listen, and know that You are with me. Help me to join with others and make Your house, the church, a house of prayer. Let me also make this living temple be a home to prayer. Teach me how to pray fervently, intently, and to always be able to pray Your word, which I know to be true, back to You so that not only will my heart be changed, and I will learn the essence of Your will, but that You will demonstrate the truth of Your promises so that the world can see You are a God that can be trusted and have hope in.
Help me to study Your word, use Your word, feed and meditate on Your word, find comfort in Your word and then pray Your word so that I can have a renewing of my mind and understand Your good and perfect will. Help me to be a living sacrifice daily, leaving my desires, my dreams at Your feet, so that I can learn Your desires and dream Your dreams. Help me to demonstrate love and hospitality, and compassion to those in need. Help me to be more understanding and to learn to always forgive for my life is Your life to mold and move. Help me to stand when life is hurts me because of living in a broken sinful world where death exists, which was not Your original plan for us. Help me to become bold in my prayer life and have a heart and spirit like Caleb’s that is different but pleasing to You. Help me to be faithful to pray no matter the cost as Daniel did. Help me to listen to the Holy Spirit and act upon the promptings as the apostles and the early church did so that I can live a life that will be radically different from what this world is used to. Help me to demonstrate the power of prayer, the power of love and most of all demonstrate that You are still my king and savior.
Holy Spirit lead me to (Philip. 2:12&13)…work out my own salvation with fear and trembling. For God is the One working in me, both to will and to do His good pleasure. (Philip. 2:14&15) Help me to do everything without complaining or arguing, so that I may become blameless and pure, a child of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which I will shine like a star in the universe. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:10&11) This way I will no longer be a slave to sin or the desires that lead me astray. (Col 3:1-10) Since, I have been raised with Christ, help me to set my heart on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Let my mind be on things above, not on earthly things. For I have died, and my life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is my life, appears, then I will also appear with him in glory. Help me to daily put to death, whatever belongs to my earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. I used to walk in these ways, in the life I once lived. But now I must rid myself of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from my lips. Help me to not lie to others, since I have taken off my old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
(Col 3:12-17) Therefore, as one of the elect of God, holy and beloved, let me put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with others, and forgiving others, and if I have a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave me, help me to forgive also. But above all these things I must put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in my heart, to which also I was called in the body of believers; and I will be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in me so I can gain in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing to others in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in my heart to the Lord. And let whatever I do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

In one short statement Jesus revealed the eternal identity and destiny of His people. He declared, “You shall be called a house of prayer.” (See Matthew 21:13) Jesus was quoting Isaiah’s prophecy to Israel: “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations” (Isa. 56:7)
When God calls us by a specific name, it indicates our character and how we are to function in the Holy Spirit. Isaiah’s prophecy and Jesus’s statement tell us that God’s people are to function as a house of prayer both now and in the age to come. Our greatest place of identity, authority, honor, and dignity if found in prayer—that is, in our deep interaction and partnership with Jesus. Being a house of prayer involves much more than having prayer meetings. It involves establishing a prayer culture in the body of Christ and seeing that our spiritual identity is rooted in being a people of prayer forever.
