Life Never Goes as We Plan it

Heavenly Father I give You praise today and honor for Your word is true. I praise You for making me adjust to life no matter what. You walk with me through the valleys and stand at the mountaintops. You guide my path and You inspire me. Help me this morning to take command of it and shake all evil and hatred from it.

Holy Spirit I come to the throne room through You. I lay at the Father’s feet my petitions and my desires. I come asking that You help me to get better at control of my emotions. To not take offense by others' behaviors and harmful actions. Help me to forgive, to live my life for You and no other. Help me to find peace this season and to rekindle joy in my heart. Help me to demonstrate patience and longsuffering. Let my life be a living sacrifice for You so that You can dwell in me as Your living temple. Renew my mind so that I focus on what is right. Guide me to temper my words and emotions so that I do not cause pain to others. Help me to be a better husband, father and grandfather. Let me demonstrate Your love for mine is too finite.

Help me to find a way to enjoy what is around me and to keep life simple. Don’t let me get caught in the pettiness of others who deep down are hurting. Let me bear my scars both emotional and physical with grace and understanding that in Your sight I am not marred in any way.

Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain! And this is my prayer: let my love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Amen. [1Chronicles 4:9&10; Philippians 1:9-11
