Heavenly Father, I praise You for how much You have done for me and my family this year. I praise You for the time I have with grandchildren, children, and extended family. I praise You for the opportunity to sing Christmas Eve and for being allowed to play harmonica with the worship team. I praise You for the birth of Christ, which had to be the most unusual beginning for a King.
Holy Spirit You inspired John to write: And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. [John 1:5] I am always amazed that when you are in total darkness how much a small light can shine and make things visible. I am so thankful for Your light coming and shining in the darkness of this world. It has continued to resonate with generation after generation. That light has become a torch, a beacon, a lighthouse, and the canopy of stars at night. Salvation has allowed man to possess Your light and to carry it faithfully with the Holy Spirit’s help. Help me to carry Your light which brings hope, mercy, and grace to a world that has gone extremely dark and chaotic. Help me to have peace, share peace, and give peace to others. Let me demonstrate love, to show the worth of people from Your perspective. Let me be the living temple here on the earth and help me to keep it clean by renewing my mind daily with Your word, wisdom, and discernment. Help me to do everything without complaining or arguing, so that I may become blameless and pure, a child of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which I like my brothers and sisters in Christ will shine like stars in the universe. [Philippians 2:14&15]
Let me be the reflector and generator of Your light like the stars and moon are in the sky on a clear night. Help me to be one of many guides to help people see You [The Way] and to be an intercessor for them. Help me to be faithful in praying for people who need healing or mercy, like Kayla and Dawn. Help me to build into the lives of the next generation so that they can take the mantle and continue the fight. Help me to help them run their race and be victorious. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
