Heavenly Father, I praise You today for remembering what has occurred but being hopeful for what is to come. I praise You for being the I am of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I praise You for making us fluid creatures in time always striving one step at a time. Today, Help me take command of my day and shake all evil from it.
Holy Spirit Your word says, “Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot of blameless. Abraham was looking forward to a city with foundations, whose designer and builder is God. In keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.” [2 Peter 3:14; Hebrews 11:10, ESV; 2 Peter 3:13, NIV; 1 John 2:28] Help me to look forward with expectancy and to try to reach my first goal for the year. Help me to be faithful and to walk circumspectly so that I am always prepared to live as a living sacrifice daily or to step into eternity when You call. Help me to fulfill my purpose, use my gifts and talents, and demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit so that I can be considered faithful when I stand before You someday as one of Your adopted children.
Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of my lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
