I will exalt You, Lord, for You lifted me from the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to You for help, and You healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; You spared me from going to the pit. Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people; praise His holy name. For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. [Psalm 30:1-5]
Holy Spirit I am so thankful for salvation, forgiveness, mercy, and grace. I realize that without Your indwelling within me, Your living temple, I would not have lasted this long. I praise You for the mercy and grace You have demonstrated in my life when I wrongfully became angry at my son's death. I praise You for the miracles You have done in my life, allowing Philip to be born, finding and surviving cancer twice, surviving blood clots that had reached my lungs, surviving being septic twice, and being hospitalized. You saved me when I fell through the ice when I was a teenager and could have drowned. You helped me through car accidents, concussions, broken bones, and a fully repaired knee. You have walked with me and my wife through the loss of 5 babies close to birth and You have continued to help us as we live without Philip. You give us wisdom to help our adult children and You have blessed us with grandchildren.
Let me continually offer the sacrifice of praise to You, oh God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to Your name. Help me to not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices You are well pleased. I will do my best to obey those who rule over me and be submissive for they watch out for my soul, and they will give account for how they lead. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for me. For I am confident that I have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially am urged to do this. Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make me complete in every good work to do His will, working in me what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
