Heavenly Father I praise You for today. I praise You for starting a new year and fresh possibilities. I praise You for the wisdom I have received and the wisdom that I will learn this year. Help me today to take command of my morning and shake all the evil out of it.
Do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old. See, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not be aware of it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. [Isaiah 43:18-19 MEV] Holy Spirit help me to start this year by offering myself as a living sacrifice to You and to allow myself to be a living temple for You to reside in. Let me strive to achieve perfection through wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Let me dig deeper into Your word and use that as one of many ways to renew my mind. Help me to learn to be hospitable to people this year and to strive for new goals and dreams as You provide them to me. Help me to seek, understand, and fulfill Your will throughout this year.
As I start moving forward this year, help me to walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Not to be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Being strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Let me see whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy—I will meditate on these things. [Ephesians 5: 15-17; Ephesians 6:10; Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:8]
I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by You, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You, all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
