My Unbelief Makes Me Distant At Times

Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your mercy and grace. I praise You for loving me enough that You know my heart and know when I feel alone. I praise You for what Paul wrote: Your grace is sufficient for me, and Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. So, I will learn to boast in my weakness that Your Power will rest upon me. [2 Corinthians 12:9, MEV] Help me today to take command of my morning and shake all the evil from it.

For my light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for me a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while I try not to look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. I will learn to live by faith, not by sight. Since I have these promises, help me to purify myself from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. [2 Corinthians 4:17&18; 2 Corinthians 5:7; 2 Corinthians 7:1] Help me to draw near and abide in You even when I feel alone and my faith is weak. Help me

to find that grain of a mustard seed faith and plant it deep within me so that it may grow and become a strong, fruitful tree. Help me to truly die out to myself, my desires, my negative thoughts, my anger, my hatred, my sin, and become a true living sacrifice as my body becomes a living temple for Your Spirit to reside. Help me to find ways to renew my mind so that I am not distracted by the business of life, the sin that surrounds me, the access to evil that is flashed before my eyes daily as an assault to my senses. Help me to focus on what is right, what is good, and what will keep me in the closeness of Your Spirit dwelling within me. Help me to drink deeply of the living water You provide and live fully aware of Your Spirit surrounding me in the midst of a world that is dead and decaying. Let me find peace while the world is chaotic. Help me to find joy when the world knows despair. Help me to find love when the world only knows hate, bitterness, and sin. Most of all, help me to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You love me, You call for me, and You desire a relationship with me for all of eternity.

I pray and ask that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of the You, fully pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You; strengthened with all might, according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified me to be a partaker of the inheritance of the saints in the light. You have delivered me from the power of darkness and conveyed me into the kingdom of the Son of Your love, in whom I have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by You all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through You for You. And You are before all things, and in You all things exist. And You are the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things You may have the

preeminence. In Your blessed Son Jesus’ name, Amen. (Colossians 1:9-18)
