I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let my foot slip—he who watches over me will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over me—the Lord is my shade at my right hand; the sun will not harm me by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep me from all harm—he will watch over my life; the Lord will watch over my coming and going both now and forevermore. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—yes, more than those who watch for the morning. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell at the end of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. [Psalm 121; Psalms 130:5&6; Psalms 139:9&10; Psalms 143:8; Psalms 145:13]
Holy Spirit Your word says, “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love. We love You because You first loved us. If I claim to love God than I cannot hate my brother and sisters, for then I would be a liar. I follow the commandment from Jesus: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.” [1John 4:16-21] Let me stand with the knowledge that as long as I love as Christ loved I have nothing to fear in eternity for my hope is in Him. Let me demonstrate daily as I give myself as a living sacrifice that I will put my ambitions, my desires, my rights, my justifications aside and serve You with all my heart, mind, body and soul. Let me be a light of love for all who You have created.
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. For we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. But I especially urge you to do this, ….Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen (Hebrews 13:14-21)
