Heavenly Father help me to live up to what the Psalmist wrote inspired by You in the 19th chapter: Psalms 19—The heavens declare the glory of You our Heavenly Father; the skies proclaim the work of Your hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens You have pitched a tent for the sun, which is like a bridegroom coming forth from his pavilion, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other nothing is hidden from its heat. The Your statutes are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The Your precepts are right giving joy to the heart. The Your commands are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The Your ordinances are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold, they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is I your humble servant am warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Holy Spirit help me to remember to listen to You before I open my mouth. Help me to say what is right and to say it with Your love. Help me to be unashamed of Your word and Your leading. Help me to speak from the deepest parts of the well within my soul and let it be water that You have purified and made refreshing for people to drink from. Let my words be words that help save people’s lives not destroy them. Help me to speak with a voice that is guided by Your wisdom, filled with Your power and coated with Your grace and mercy. Teach me when to speak and when to be silent. Guide my thoughts so that I meditate on what is pure and righteous. Help me to bring into captivity any thought that will lead me or others astray.
I praise You for trusting me and others with the building of Your kingdom here on the earth. Help us to always come to You first and to listen to You speak to us so that we can do Your will. Help us to die out to our will and desires of the flesh so that we can live in Your Spirit, walk in Your Spirit, be led by Your Spirit and speak with Your Spirit guiding our words and thoughts. In Jesus’ name, amen.
