Peace in Non Time of Peace

Heavenly Father You are known by many names, and I will call upon Your name Jehovah Machsi [The Lord my Refuge], for my peace of mind comes from being within Your hand and control. I come before Your throne today and request that I take command of my morning to shake the evil out of it. I know that nothing is beyond Your knowledge and though You allow free will You still control the times and can stop this crazy world at any time. You are truly my Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Holy Spirit You inspired Isaiah to write, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” You inspired Luke to write what Christ said, “And shall God not avenge His elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you; he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Isn’t that the real issue in having peace, do I have faith that God is in control and that life here is but a vapor and that I should be way more concerned about eternity? Holy Spirit help me to trust, believe, and have faith that in my life God is in control and He knows more of what I will face and that I need to fully lean on Him for I have no control over the chaos of life around me. My peace must come from the realization that no matter what I face, no matter what I must bear, You walk beside me, within me, and that You will walk me through it even if it means I walk into my eternal home. The evil of this world, the hate, the darkness, the foolishness can inflict pain and hurt my physical body, but it cannot steal my joy nor take my salvation from me. I must keep moving forward and know that You are God. There are plenty of times in the Bible where You show that Your people faced worse than what I am facing today. Look, Daniel, Paul, Peter the first church. People in Rome were being used as light torches at night to light the streets because of their faith. It was a sport for people so scarred in their minds to think that watching defenseless Christians be attacked and mauled by wild beasts was great entertainment. Throughout history, there have been martyrs who have suffered unbelievable and horrible deaths because of their beliefs. Compared to that what have I to fear? [Isaiah 41:10; Luke 18:7&8]

Now I urge you, brethren, to note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore, I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Romans 16:17-20)
