Praise for Friends and Volunteers

Heavenly Father I praise You that we do not walk life alone and we were never intended to walk life alone.  I praise You for a beautiful wife who makes me a better person.  I praise You for friends who are loyal and keep me accountable.  I praise You for the friends You have brought into my children’s lives to help them get through their journeys as well.  I praise You for the friendships that make life easier to face when I face trials.  I praise You for the people who mentored my children and for those who taught me in life how to be not only an adult but to be a man of God.  I praise You for salvation, which forgives me, but does not make me perfect.

Holy Spirit I ask that You would bless the friends that You have brought into my life and let me be as faithful to them as they have been to me.  Help me to be a better husband so that my wife can feel more complete.  Help me to demonstrate love with my actions and not just my words.  Help me to faithful to pray continuously for everyone with who I come in contact with each day.  Help me to use the one gift I have, which is to call on You through Your word.  Teach me to do my best to present myself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.  Avoiding godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. (2 Timothy 2:15&16)

Holy Spirit I ask today that You would be with Noah, Philip’s former roommate in college who was a faithful friend to him.  Help him in his spiritual walk and help him to deal with all the tribulation he has had to face in his young life.  Help him to remember what Paul said to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12—Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.  2 Timothy 1:7—For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  Help Noah to be able to speak to people of his generation and provide them hope so that they learn to live in Christ.

Holy Spirit help the volunteer leaders in the churches who give of their time to be mentors and small group leaders to teens.  Help them to live a life in front of these teens that demonstrates how to be adults who are humble enough to admit their mistakes and when they are wrong, strong enough to pray continuously for them, and willing to live life with teens learning to grow, laugh, love and become more like Christ.  Bless the sacrifices these volunteers make after work full time and giving up time at home to run with the young.

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.—1Corinthians 1:4-9  We give honor and Praise to Jesus our Savior and to the Father and to the Holy Spirit, Amen!
