Prayer for Christian

Heavenly Father, I praise You for my Aunt Ruth and for the heart she has to serve You. She has brought to my attention a man who needs Your mercy and grace right now. As a father who has lost a son, I understand the pain of loss. I also understand despair, the point of no hope, and the fact that there is no point in living. I also know that this is not why You created us or that You desire for us to suffer or face alone.

Holy Spirit I first bring this young man, Christian before You. I ask that You would bring him wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment as he faces life alone. He has been thrust into having to be a grown man without much family support. I ask that You teach him to daily put on his spiritual armor so that he can stand against the hopelessness of this sinful dark depressing world that tries to consume and destroy us. Help him to put on the belt of truth, holding the tools and weapons of faith he will need to live and succeed. Help him to have his Bible close and to learn to meditate on it. Help

him to realize that it is both a tool and a weapon against sin and despair. Help him to cover his chest and heart with Your breastplate of righteousness. He is now righteous because You live within him. Let him be Your living temple for You to reside in and that he would give his life to being a living sacrifice daily so that he is fully consumed with fulfilling the purpose You created him for. Help him to put on the shoes of peace so that where he walks, travels, or goes he will have peace, share peace, and live in peace. Help him to learn to use his shield of faith and to allow it to protect him from insults, disgrace, and attacks from Satan or those under his influence. Let him put on the helmet of Salvation so that he can learn to renew his mind daily and protect his thoughts and what he allows to be remembered within him. Help him to learn, especially from Aunt Ruth, how to pray and to seek You, Holy Spirit, as his comforter and the one sent to give us wisdom. Help him to learn to stand strong on the foundation of the salvation that was given to him from Christ and to show mercy, grace, and hope to all he comes in contact with. Help him to learn the

story of Joseph, Daniel, and others who had to excel even though life was extremely hard on them. Let him learn from Paul and Peter who gave their lives to serving You. Help him to pray Your promises and to grow to be a person who is a blessing to all who know him. Open his eyes and mind to the wonders, miracles, and blessings You give us every day.

Help Christian today to know he is part of a worldwide family and that he is not alone. Teach him to be bold like

Caleb is a friend like Jonathon, wise like Daniel, a dreamer like Joseph, a person of grace like Esther, industrious like Lydia, fearless like Deborah, humble like Stephen, cunning like Mordecai, and adventurous like Philip. Guide his heart and mind to seek You first and all day long so that the world can not weigh him down and destroy him. I, and others of his adopted family, stand with and pray for Christian and believe in what he can do with Your Spirit inside his heart. Thank you for the gift of Christian and we leave him in Your hands. The hands that were pierced by sinful men to allow

You to be our gift of salvation. With praise and glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
